Job summary

Polaris Education - Elmy Hall School in Northwich is seeking a dedicated One-to-One Teaching Assistant to support pupils aged 5 to 16 with complex needs. This full-time, 12-month fixed-term role is term-time only, offering a chance to contribute to a nurturing learning environment.

You will mentor a pupil or small group, assist with lessons, monitor progress, and help with planning and marking. Ideal candidates have GCSE C in English and Maths, previous TA experience, and a commitment to

Qualifications

• GCSE grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant.
• Experience with SEMH pupils in an educational setting.
• Willing to take additional responsibilities in school areas (e.g., food hygiene, forest school).
• Experience of behaviour management.
• Committed to professional development and learning.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support one pupil, or a small group of up to six.
• Support the classroom teacher during lessons.
• Report on pupils' progress and liaise with staff to meet needs.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time and trips.
• Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
• Set work where appropriate and mark.
• Build positive relationships to drive learning outcomes.
