A primary school in Southwark is seeking a caring, patient and dedicated One-to-One Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. You will be working closely with a pupil who has Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The successful candidate will provide consistent one-to-one support throughout the school day, helping the pupil access learning, manage their emotions and develop positive relationships within the school environment. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to understand the pupil's individual needs and provide appropriate support. This may include helping with emotional regulation, behaviour management, transitions, social interaction and engagement with classroom activities. Previous experience working with children with SEMH and ASD would be highly desirable. The school is looking for someone who is patient, resilient, proactive and able to build a strong and trusting relationship with the pupil.
