Job summary

Martha H School in Wigan is seeking a dedicated One-to-One Teaching Assistant to support a pupil or a small group and assist with lessons. This is a full-time, term-time only, 12-month fixed term contract with a salary of £21,257.48 - £23,232.69.

Qualifications

• GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Maths.
• Experience as Teaching Assistant.
• Experience with SEMH in an educational setting.
• Willing to take additional responsibilities in school areas (e.g., Food Hygiene, Forest School, lunchtimes, School Yoga).
• Experience with behaviour management and techniques.
• DBS check prior to starting work.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support one pupil or small group (max six).
• Support the classroom teacher during lessons.
• Report on pupils' progress and liaise with staff to meet needs.
• Supervise pupils during non-classroom time and trips.
• Assist with lesson planning and preparation.
• Set work and mark assignments.
• Build positive relationships and drive learning outcomes.
