Job summary

GCIL South Lanarkshire is advertising a Male or Female Child Support Worker to assist a nonverbal child with Autism, Pica and Learning Disabilities in the Cambuslang area. You will provide one-to-one care at home and in the community, including personal care and social activities.

The role includes attending to personal care, feeding, occasional medication help, meal preparation, supporting social activities, weekend respite pickups, and promoting independent living with a proactive, patient

Qualifications

• Driver required.

Responsibilities

• Attending all personal care needs and toileting needs, dressing and occasional showering/bathing and feeding.
• Occasional assistance with medication.
• Preparing meals and snacks when required.
• Supporting in social activities such as park visits and swimming.
• Occasional pickup from day respite unit (weekends).
• One-to-one supervision to keep the young person safe in home and community.
• Managing some challenging and self-injurious behaviour.
• Encouraging engagement in new social activities and developing independent living skills.
• Other daily living tasks to promote independence and life skills.
