Job summary

Beacon supports Ltd. seeks Specialist One-to-One Study Skills and Strategy Support Tutors to work with Higher Education students. The role offers flexible hours and the chance to make a real difference in students' educational journeys.

You will meet with students face-to-face when requested and use ILPs to tailor learning strategies. Applicants should have degree-level education and hold membership with PATOSS, BDA, ADSHE or Dyslexia Guild.

Qualifications

• Must hold professional membership with PATOSS, BDA, ADSHE or Dyslexia Guild.
• Welsh-speaking skills are desirable.
• Face-to-face meetings with students may be required.
• Flexible hours to fit around you while supporting students.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one study skills tutoring and strategy support to Higher Education students.
• Develop learning strategies via Individual Learning Plans (ILP) and monitor progress.
• Attend to confidentiality and maintain professional working relationships; collaborate with a support team.

Job description

Beacon Support Ltd. are recruiting Specialist One-to-One Study Skills and Strategy Support Tutors to work with Higher Education students. The position offers flexible hours to work around you, whilst helping to make a difference to students' educational experiences.
Experience in working with individuals with specific learning differences, ideally in higher or further education. Educated to degree level Welsh speaking desirable This is a specialist role, therefore you must hold a professional membership with one of the following professional bodies: PATOSS, BDA, ADSHE or Dyslexia Guild. Applicants must be willing to meet with students on a face-to-face basis if this is a request for their support provision. Whilst we are seeking candidates for the region outlined in the advert, we are also recruiting nationally. Therefore, any applications from candidates outside of the advertised region are encouraged and will be considered for other opportunities. Further skills/requirements include:

We have students with specific learning differences (SpLDs) including dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, ADHD and ASC, who require one to one support with their higher education studies. Tutors work with an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) and act as facilitators to help students develop learning strategies that will improve their study skills and enable them to become independent learners.
