Job summary

One Stop is hiring an HGV Class Driver to deliver goods to stores across the UK. You will ensure safe, timely deliveries, perform daily vehicle checks, and handball goods as needed. The role requires a CPC card, Cat C+E license, and Digital Tachograph knowledge, with a strong emphasis on safety and professionalism.

You will work as part of a transport team, coordinating with store staff and other drivers to maintain efficient deliveries while complying with EU regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of EU Regulations and WTD is required.
• Strong communication skills for teamwork and customer service.
• Solid health and safety understanding and compliance.
• Ability to work as part of a larger transport team.
• Valid CPC Card is required.
• Cat C+E License is required.
• Digital Tachograph card knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver goods to stores across the UK, ensuring items arrive in good condition and help with handball when needed.
• Maintain flexible start times, including nights out where applicable.
• Comply with Health and Safety regulations and company policies.
• Adhere to EU road transport rules and working time regulations.
• Represent One Stop responsibly while driving, maintaining a safe, professional image.
• Communicate with transport teams and stores, and inform them of changes affecting delivery.
• Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly.
• Ensure vehicle load is safe and tachograph paperwork is in order.
• Keep the vehicle clean and presentable, and report any issues to the transport team.

At One Stop, our HGV Class Drivers play a vital role in keeping our stores fully stocked and running smoothly. We are looking for reliable, safety-focused individuals who take pride in delivering goods efficiently and on time, while upholding the highest standards of professionalism. As a key representative of our business, you will ensure our products reach stores safely, supporting our commitment to excellent service for customers and colleagues alike.

• I deliver goods into our stores across the UK, ensuring products reach stores in good condition and where necessary I will handball goods into the store.
• I have a flexible approach to start times including nights out where applicable.
• I comply with Health and Safety regulations including company policy and procedures.
• At all times I comply with EU Road Transport regulations ensuring I do not put myself or the company at risk of breaching any working time regulations.
• I professionally represent the One Stop brand whilst driving on UK roads, in a responsible manner complying with all current EU Road Transport regulation
• I demonstrate the right behaviours and build good relationships with colleagues, transport teams, stores teams and our customers.
• My actions will ensure that no liability can be attributed to the company when accidents occur.
• I work with colleagues and customers to reduce impact on our environment by minimising noise and parking considerately during my deliveries.
• I inform the transport teams of any changes which have been made that may negatively affect the local community or affect the delivery process.
• Complete a Daily Vehicle Check to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and all checks are in line with the ‘Daily Vehicle Check’ procedure
• Report immediately All vehicle defects in line with the ‘Vehicle Defect’ procedure.
• Ensure the vehicle load is safe and check PDA Device.
• All legislation and paperwork concerning the vehicle’s Tachograph is complied with
• Ensure that my customer endorses all documentation before leaving the goods and report any delivery discrepancies at the time of delivery
• Inform a member of the Transport team immediately should I be unable to deliver the goods to the store for any reason
• Keep the vehicle in a clean and presentable condition internally
• Report immediately to the Transport team any problem, accidental damage etc
• Action any other elements to fulfil the operational needs of the business
• Complete any other reasonable duties as allocated by the transports managerial team
