Job summary

Nuffield Health Brighton Hospital is seeking an Oncology Pharmacist to join our bank team. You will be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and bring post-qualification oncology experience to deliver high-quality medicines management and clinical care across departments.

This role offers flexible, ad-hoc hours in a hospital setting, with duties including ward rounds, medication reconciliation, education for staff and patients, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Join multidisciplinary team and lead medicines management in the hospital.

It starts with you.As a bank Oncology Pharmacist at our Brighton Hospital, you'll be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and you'll have proven post-qualification experience. It's also important that you have excellent communication and people skills, as you'll be working closely with our patients and a variety of clinical staff.As an Oncology Pharmacist, you will:Join our talented multidisciplinary teamBe the trusted Medicines Management Lead for our hospitalDeliver high-quality clinical care and advice where it’s neededOffer services to a range of departments, including the pre-assessment clinic, outpatient department, ward and theatresParticipate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetingsEducate patients on the proper use of prescribed medicationsConduct medication reconciliation and drug utilization reviewsDocument clinical interventions and outcomesProvide drug information and training to healthcare staff and patientsEnsure compliance with hospital policies, national regulations, and accreditation standardsParticipate in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and medication safety programsReport adverse drug reactions and medication errorsDuties And ResponsibilitiesPlan, monitor and quality assure the application of technology for the provision of Chemotherapy treatmentAssess the health and well-being of patients whose needs may be complex and changing within the context of their medicinesDiscuss, agree and explain responsibilities for assessment of patients with the clinical team, with specific reference to the patient’s pharmaceutical needs and oncology medicationPlan, deliver and evaluate pharmaceutical care to meet patient’s health and wellbeing needsResponding to clinical and non-clinical queriesAs an Oncology Pharmacist, you will have:Strong knowledge of pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, and disease managementExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAttention to detail and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary teamHave completed oncology pharmacist competencies as set by BOPA and Pan-London frameworkExperience with IQEMO highly desirableBe computer literateFamiliar with EPR systemsAt least 2 years experience in an oncology settingQualifications and Experience:GPhC registration.Extensive experience in hospital pharmacy and oncologyExceptional analytical and problem-solving abilitiesUnwavering attention to detail and accuracyProven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a teamHelping you feel good.We want you to love coming to work, feeling healthy, happy and valued.
