Job summary

Nuffield Health Wolverhampton Hospital is seeking a Bank Staff Nurse – Oncology to join their oncology team on an ad hoc, part-time basis. You will provide chemotherapy-related care, assess patient needs, and administer systemic anti-cancer therapies within a consultant and nurse-led service.

The role requires current NMC registration, post-registration oncology experience, and SACT qualification, with flexible Monday–Friday hours and competitive hourly pay.

Responsibilities

• Be a valued part of the consultant and nurse-led service.
• Care for patients receiving chemotherapy or new treatments.

• Assist consultants during clinics.
• Provide care for acute oncological emergencies.
• Access central venous devices as needed.
• Demonstrate excellent phlebotomy skills.

Bank Staff Nurse – OncologyWolverhampton Hospital | Oncology | Bank - Ad Hoc | Part Time

Up to £25.00 per hour depending on skills and experience

Working on the bank means you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability.

As a Bank Staff Nurse in Oncology at our Wolverhampton Hospital, you’re registered with the appropriate governing body and you bring the qualifications and experience relevant to your registration, including NMC. As well as post-registration experience, you have experience in Oncology and hold the SACT (systemic anti-cancer therapies) qualification.

As an Bank Staff Nurse -Oncology you will:

• Be a valued addition to the team in our consultant and nurse-led service
• Work with patients receiving chemotherapy or new treatments, such as immunotherapy
• Fully assess each patient’s needs, providing tailored treatment plans and care
• Administer systemic anti-cancer therapies
• Assist consultants during clinics
• Provide care for Acute Oncological emergencies
• Access all central venous devices
• Have excellent phlebotomy skills

Overtime

For clinical roles grade 9 and below, the overtime is at a standard rate of pay. For unsocial hours, you’ll be paid an additional enhancement to your salary at the following rates: Nights Hours worked between 7pm and 7am on any day of the week, 30% of basic hourly rate. Weekends Hours worked between 7am and 7pm on a Saturday or Sunday, 20% of basic hourly rate. Bank Holidays Hours worked between midnight and midnight of a bank holiday, 100% of basic hourly rate.
