Job summary

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) is seeking an experienced oncology nurse to join the chemotherapy service in West Essex. The post focuses on delivering safe, patient-centred care for individuals undergoing chemotherapy and supportive therapies.

You will work within a multi-professional team, develop your oncology skills, and may pursue a post-registration oncology/chemotherapy course in the future.

Qualifications

• Post-registration oncology/chemotherapy course in the future.
• Nursing qualification and registration are expected.

Responsibilities

• To administer systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT) in a range of routes, safely and in line with your skill set.
• To administer supportive treatments, safely, and in line with your skill set i.e Blood transfusions, IV Fluids, magnesium, immunoglobins & iron infusions
• To carry out therapeutic venesection providing all care and supervision required by these patients.
• To always act in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct and within the principles of professional practice and ensure others in the team also work accordingly.
