Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is inviting applications for a Charge Nurse in the Macmillan Day Case Unit at Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. You will provide clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team and support staff development in an oncology setting.

Applicants must hold an active NMC pin and have substantial nursing experience in acute/oncology care. The post offers permanent, full-time employment with a 36-hour week and shift patterns from 08:00–18:00 or

Qualifications

Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
Significant post-registration nursing experience in acute healthcare.
Experience in oncology, cancer services or related speciality.
Demonstrated leadership skills to motivate and develop others.
Knowledge of evidence-based practice, governance and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

Provide clinical leadership in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care programmes.
Deliver safe, evidence-based care to patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Supervise and develop registered and unregistered nursing staff.
Manage own caseload while coordinating departmental resources.
Support workforce management including staff development and appraisals.
Contribute to service improvement, audits and development of nursing practice.
Collaborate with patients, families and multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver person-centred care.
