Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join the inpatient nursing team as a Charge Nurse in Specialist Oncology Services at Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre.

The role provides leadership and clinical oversight to a team delivering holistic cancer care across urological, colorectal and neuro-endocrine patients, including those receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy.

Qualifications

• Must hold First Level Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
• Post-registration nursing experience required.
• Oncology experience desirable.
• Leadership or supervisory experience desirable.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and numeracy skills.
• Ability to provide evidence-based patient care within a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of professional, legal and ethical nursing standards.
• Commitment to CPD and staff support.
• Ability to fulfil the requirements outlined within the job description.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and coordinate safe, evidence-based care for a defined patient group.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care with patient, families and carers involved.
• Maintain patient records in line with NMC standards and support learning and appraisals.
• Lead nursing practice, assist in recruitment and rostering, manage resources and deputise for Ward Manager.
