Job summary

WM Trains Limited is seeking an On Train Cleaner/CET Operator to join the Fleet department in Crewe. You will ensure trains and stations are clean and tidy and answer customer queries at the station, assisting passengers as needed.

The role includes handling cleaning chemicals, CET tasks, and completing audits. Shifts may start as early as 6am or finish as late as 10pm, including weekends, with a 14+ month path after competence is gained.

Responsibilities

• Clean trains and stations using specialist equipment and chemicals.

• Undertake CET and extraction tasks when required.
• Complete audit sheets and report non-conformances.
• Dispose of rubbish and replace liner on train bins as needed.

Compensation: £26,320 - £30,721 / year

Description

Your role is to ensure our trains and stations are clean and tidy. You will be working as part of a team, responsible for cleaning our trains, at the station, ready for customer journeys.

You will also be answering customer queries at the station and providing help and advice to customers.

What does the role involve?

• Use of specialist cleaning chemicals and equipment
• Take responsibility for Materials and equipment provided to carry out tasks required
• Undertake controlled emission toilet (CET) and extractions and when required.
• Complete audit sheets as required and report non-conformances to Train Presentation Supervisor
• Disposal of rubbish removed from trains in the appropriate location
• Remove full bin liners and re-line on train bins when found full or nearly full

What skills and experience do I need to do the job?

• A willingness to learn and work to company set company standards
• Flexibility – you could be on an early or a late shift, meaning you could be starting at 6am or finishing at 10pm, including weekends
• Being a great communicator – both written and verbal communication
• Happy to be training on how to handle bio-hazards and sharps
• Being happy to work on and off trains and platforms at stations

To ensure continuity and an effective delivery of service, successful candidates will be required to commit to a minimum 14-month period in role after achieving competence. This also includes existing colleagues who move by internal promotions and transfers.
