Job summary

VolkerHighways, part of VolkerWessels UK, is hiring a Quantity Surveyor to join the ICP & EV team in Hoddesdon. You will manage commercial matters on highways projects, handle subcontracts, and ensure accurate cost control and reporting.

We are seeking a commercially astute professional with NEC/JCT experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. On-site role with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience in quantity surveying on highways or civil projects.
• Experience with NEC and/or JCT contracts.
• Strong cost forecasting and risk management.
• Excellent negotiation and client-facing communication.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data reporting.

Responsibilities

• Be the primary commercial contact on site, advising project teams on contractual and financial matters.
• Monitor WIP, identify risks with mitigation strategies, and report via CVR and other reports.
• Procure and manage subcontractors, including tender analysis, rate negotiations, and instructions.
• Process subcontractor payments with documentation and ensure contract compliance.
• Measure works on site, maintain records, manage variations and income agreements.
• Track certifications, payments and resolve disputes efficiently.
• Prepare monthly CVR reports, forecasts, accruals and recovery reports.
• Maintain logs of receipts, aged debt, and support forecasting and controls.
• Authorise invoices and maintain works management system administration.
• Prepare and submit client KPIs and financial reports.
