Job summary

VolkerHighways is seeking a commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to join our ICP & EV team on site in Hoddesdon. The role focuses on managing costs, maximising recovery and maintaining strong client and supplier relationships.

You will be the primary commercial contact on site, handling cost reporting, WIP, risk mitigation, subcontractor management, payments and CVR reporting. A proven background in highways/civil projects and NEC/JCT contract experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in quantity surveying within highways or civil projects.
• Experience with NEC and/or JCT contracts.
• Strong ability to analyse costs, forecast, and manage financial risks.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary commercial contact on site for project teams.
• Ensure cost reporting, monitor WIP and risk mitigation.
• procure and manage subcontractors including tender analysis and rate negotiations.
• Process subcontractor payments with supporting docs and compliance.
• Measure works on site, manage variations and income agreements.
• Track certifications, payments and resolve disputes efficiently.
• Prepare monthly CVR reports and client KPI data.
• Support contract forecasting and controls; maintain logs.
