Job summary

Amey is recruiting a Permanent Plumber for the MoJ account at HMP Cardiff, Knox Rd, Cardiff CF24 0UG. You will contribute to safe, compliant maintenance across a network of prisons, performing both planned and reactive work in a secure environment.

The role requires NVQ level 3 in Plumbing and Heating (NVQ2 acceptable) and experience with water systems, Legionella control is desirable. Prison security clearance will be supported by Amey.

Qualifications

Experience operating light plant.
NVQ level 3 in Plumbing and Heating preferred; NVQ level 2 considered.

Responsibilities

Ensuring Health & Safety standards are met across the contract.
Performing statutory works on time, ensuring compliance.
Conducting routine and non-routine maintenance, including fault finding and repairs.
Inspecting, sampling water, and assessing risks to maintain system integrity.
Repairing mains water supply and addressing life-expired equipment.
Monitoring the BMS system to ensure optimal performance.
Supporting zero carbon initiatives and sustainability goals.
Handling additional tasks as directed, including working at height and in various weather conditions.
