Job summary

Amey, supporting His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service, invites a Permanent Plumber to join the HMP Berwyn site in Wrexham. You will perform routine and reactive plumbing maintenance, inspect water systems, repair mains supply, and support safety, compliance and sustainability goals.

The role is 39 hours per week, on-site, with a 15% shift allowance and occasional weekend work; prison security clearance will be required. Disability Confident employer status plus stable public-sector account.

Qualifications

• Experience performing routine and reactive maintenance.
• Inspect water systems and assess risks to system integrity.
• Repair mains water supply and address life-expired equipment.
• Monitor BMS to ensure optimal performance.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring Health & Safety standards are met across the contract.
• Performing statutory works on time, ensuring compliance.
• Conducting routine and non-routine maintenance, including fault finding and repairs.
• Inspecting, sampling water, and assessing risks to maintain system integrity.
• Repairing mains water supply and address life-expired equipment.
• Monitoring the BMS System to ensure optimal performance.
• Supporting zero carbon initiatives, contributing to sustainability goals.
• Handling additional tasks as directed by your line manager, including working at height and in various weather conditions.
