Job summary

National Gas is Britain's national gas network, responsible for maintaining the critical infrastructure that transports gas across Great Britain. As an Operations Technician, you will undertake installation, inspection, commissioning, operation, repair and maintenance on terminals, compressor stations, pipelines and related assets within your geographic zone.

You will apply Safe Systems of Work, respond to operational challenges, and support asset availability across the transmission network

Qualifications

Proven maintenance and operational knowledge in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, electronics or control systems.
Experience in Oil & Gas or similar process industries with hazardous-area equipment.
Ability to work within Safe Systems of Work.
Training certifications to support knowledge (e.g., COMPEX EX11).

Responsibilities

Carry out installation, inspection, commissioning, maintenance, repair on pipelines and compressor stations.
Diagnose faults and resolve equipment issues to maximise plant reliability.
Apply safe systems of work, issue permits and implement isolations.
Maintain accurate maintenance and asset records in line with regulations.
Support delivery, construction and commissioning of new assets across the transmission network.
Monitor and protect the high-pressure pipeline system and oversee third-party activities.
Provide technical expertise during routine operations and emergencies.
