Job summary
National Gas Transmission PLC seeks an Operations Technician (Instrumentation) to ensure safe, reliable operation of gas infrastructure across a defined geographic area. You will install, inspect, maintain, commission and respond to incidents on instrumentation systems and plant equipment, working across terminals, compressor stations, pipelines and AGIs.
The role requires hands-on technical expertise, adherence to Safety Systems of Work, and active involvement in emergency response, with travel
Qualifications
- Maintenance and fault diagnosis experience in Oil & Gas or similar process industries.
- Inspection in hazardous areas and Safe Systems of Work.
- Evidence of relevant training/competencies and valid driving licence.
- Relevant engineering discipline qualifications or apprenticeship.
Responsibilities
- Carrying out installation, inspection, commissioning, maintenance, fault-finding and repair on instrumentation systems and plant equipment.
- Supporting safe operation of terminals, pipelines, compressor stations and AGIs by following policies and safe systems of work.
- Issuing permits, implementing isolations and aiding safe control of operations for internal teams and contractors.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance, asset and operational records for compliance.
- Supporting construction, commissioning and integration of new assets and identifying upgrade opportunities.
- Participating in emergency response, standby rotas and incident management to support resilience.
- Monitoring contractor activities and protecting pipeline assets to maintain safety and standards.
