Placements24 in Randburg is seeking a Mechanical Design Specialist to join our team. You will create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings for mechanical parts and assemblies, translating concepts into manufacturable designs that meet performance and cost targets.

Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
Proven experience as Mechanical Designer or Drafter with a strong portfolio.
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor) and knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical documentation.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings for mechanical parts and assemblies.
Develop technical specifications and documentation required for manufacturing and procurement.
Collaborate with engineers and production teams to ensure designs are feasible and optimized for manufacturing.
Perform basic engineering calculations and analyses to support design decisions.
Assist in the testing and validation of prototypes and new designs.
Maintain and organize design files and documentation according to company standards.
