Job summary

ISQ Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Design and Development Engineer with a Mechanical Engineering background to design mechanical components and assemblies using CAD tools. The role combines desk-based design with hands-on involvement in prototype builds, testing and validation.

You will produce CAD models and manufacturing drawings, perform calculations, and collaborate with engineers from multiple disciplines to ensure successful integration of mechanical and electronic systems.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Suitable for graduates or those with up to 2–3 years of mechanical design experience.
• Experience using 3D CAD software; PTC Creo preferred, SolidWorks or Inventor also considered.
• Understanding of engineering materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical testing.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a practical, hands-on approach.
• Ability to work with engineers from different disciplines.
• Confidence using AI tools to support design, analysis, documentation, and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and assemblies.
• Produce 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings (PTC Creo preferred).
• Carry out hand calculations and simulations to support design decisions.
• Support prototype and production builds and testing.
• Contribute to design reviews and engineering change processes.
• Maintain version control and accurate design documentation.
