Job summary

ProTech Recruitment Ltd is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to develop, improve and support manufacturing processes from product introduction through to production. You will influence manufacturing workflows and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

The role involves tooling and fixture design, root-cause analysis and close collaboration with Design, Production and Quality teams to enhance efficiency, quality and cost metrics.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing engineering within a production environment.
• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical/electronic assembly.
• Experience with tooling, fixtures or press-fit applications.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems; SAP advantageous.
• Strong communication skills with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain manufacturing processes, routings and work instructions.
• Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and design-for-manufacture activities.
• Design and implement tooling, fixtures and manufacturing equipment.
• Investigate manufacturing issues and carry out root cause analysis.
• Implement corrective and preventative actions.
• Drive Lean / Continuous Improvement / Operational Excellence initiatives.
• Work closely with Design Engineering, Production and Quality teams.
• Support and develop Manufacturing Engineering Technicians.
• Improve manufacturing quality, efficiency, cost and repeatability.
• Use modern technology and AI tools to improve productivity and decision-making.
