Job summary

BT in Cheltenham is seeking an Infrastructure Engineering Professional to provide on-site IT support, drive automation and improve security. You’ll work as the on-site lead for workplace tech, incidents and service improvements, using Terraform, Ansible and PowerShell to automate tasks and support SCCM-based endpoint management.

The role requires DV level security clearance and on-site presence Mon-Fri, 37.5 hours. Experience with enterprise IT environments and secure operations is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience providing IT support in an enterprise or corporate environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills across end-user devices.
• Experience supporting Windows desktops, laptops and mobile devices.
• Good understanding of Microsoft applications and services (Office Suite, SCCM).
• Desirable: experience in secure or regulated environments.
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals and local infrastructure support.
• Experience with asset management and hardware deployment activities.
• Familiarity with Jira Service Desk or similar IT service management tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site IT support for Cheltenham-based colleagues and corporate services.
• Act as on-site technical lead for workplace technology, incidents and service improvements.
• Drive an automation-first approach using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell).
• Support and evolve endpoint management platforms, including SCCM and modern device management.
• Solve complex infrastructure challenges across compute, storage, networking and cloud.
• Improve the organisation's security posture through vulnerability remediation and patching.
