Job summary

Our client is a well-established specialist contractor operating across the construction sector, delivering refurbishment, demolition, enabling works, and licensed asbestos removal projects throughout the UK. They are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their team and support project delivery on a diverse portfolio of works.

This field-based role requires five days per week on site with overnight stays as required.

Qualifications

• Proven Health & Safety experience within construction, refurbishment, demolition or complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and industry best practice.
• Auditing, inspection and incident investigation experience essential.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel with overnight stays.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional H&S advice across multiple construction and asbestos removal projects.
• Plan and manage your own programme of site visits based on risk.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.
• Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, Control of Asbestos Regulations and ISO 45001.
• Review risk assessments, method statements and plans of work.
• Support operational teams in identifying hazards and implementing controls.
• Investigate accidents and non-conformities and drive corrective actions.
• Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings; promote a positive safety culture.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance and performance.
• Produce detailed reports and communicate findings to management.
• Support development of H&S management systems and procedures.
• Build strong relationships with clients, site teams and external stakeholders.
