Job summary

Envisage Group is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to install, commission, maintain and repair industrial equipment across the UK. The role involves on-site work at customer sites, reading electrical schematics, fault diagnosis, and providing clear service reports.

A company vehicle is provided, with overtime available, and travel across the UK is required. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role requiring strong problem-solving and organisational skills.

Qualifications

• At least two years' experience in field service, maintenance, machinery installation or similar engineering environment.
• Strong electrical engineering background.
• Good practical experience with electrical wiring and fault-finding.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Experience diagnosing faults and carrying out electrical repairs.
• Good mechanical engineering and maintenance skills.
• Experience replacing and commissioning electrical and mechanical components.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and a methodical approach to fault diagnosis.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work directly with customers.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple service activities.
• Genuine customer‑focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Installing, commissioning and servicing new machinery at customer sites.
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance, inspections and routine servicing.
• Diagnosing electrical, mechanical and control‑system faults.
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Identifying faulty components and carrying out repairs or replacements.
• Supporting customers with breakdowns and technical issues, restoring equipment to operation efficiently.
• Carrying out machine checks to identify potential problems before they develop into failures.
• Providing clear service reports and keeping customer and service records up to date using CRM and other reporting systems.
• Training customer operators and maintenance personnel in the safe and effective operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Working closely with customers to provide a professional and responsive service.
• Travelling regularly to customer sites throughout the UK.
