Job summary

Slough Borough Council is recruiting two Facilities Officers to help keep corporate and community buildings safe, secure and welcoming. The role is on-site with shifts from early mornings to late nights and requires a valid UK driving licence for site travel.

You will be the first point of contact for users, perform key holder duties, and support security, safety and maintenance across the Council estate. A 10% shift allowance applies.

Qualifications

• Experience in building management and maintaining safe, secure buildings.
• Strong commitment to customer service and responsiveness.
• Willingness to participate in emergency responses and shift work.

Responsibilities

• Acting as a key holder, opening and securing buildings and patrolling sites.
• Carrying out health, safety, security and fire checks and addressing hazards.
• Monitoring cleaning, repairs and maintenance; performing minor works.
• Setting up rooms and assisting with office and accommodation moves; handling furniture/equipment safely.
• Providing basic first aid cover and supporting emergency responses.
• Covering reception and post room duties, including civic duties as required.
