Job summary

Babcock is seeking a Facilities Management Technician to join the Ashchurch site near Tewkesbury. You will maintain buildings, infrastructure, and essential systems to support defence and security programmes, ensuring safe, reliable operations and regulatory compliance.

You will perform planned maintenance, address faults promptly, assist with statutory inspections, and coordinate with contractors while contributing to a safe, high-quality workplace environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in facilities or building maintenance.
• Strong understanding of health and safety legislation (COSHH, LOLER, PUWER).
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues across multiple systems.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• IT literacy for maintenance management systems (CAFM).

Responsibilities

• Deliver Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) across building fabric, mechanical, electrical and safety systems.
• Respond to reactive maintenance issues, diagnose faults and complete repairs.
• Support statutory inspections and maintain accurate logs and documentation.
• Perform first-line repairs and small improvement works to maintain facilities.
• Coordinate external contractors on-site and ensure work is safe and to specification.
