Job summary

American Society of Civil Engineers is seeking an Environmental Advisor for a hands-on, field-based role on live civil engineering projects in the UK. You will be right at the heart of the work, spotting environmental risks and turning standards into practical action on site, while collaborating with engineers and operations teams.

You’ll drive compliance, lead environmental inspections, and champion improvements with regulators and clients.

Qualifications

• Environmental degree required and professional membership desirable.
• Experience applying environmental legislation to live projects.
• Ability to implement practical environmental plans on site.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Environmental Expert on site and develop workable management plans.
• Ensure projects meet environmental legislation, permits and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct inspections/audits against ISO 14001 and standards; implement corrective actions.
• Support environmental incident management and capture lessons learned.
• Engage with colleagues, clients and regulators to promote smarter environmental practices.
