Job summary

MRD Recruitment is partnering with a leading UK FMCG manufacturer to hire an Engineering Projects & Compliance Manager on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role links project delivery with engineering standards and daily manufacturing operations, ensuring equipment is delivered safely and to required technical standards before handover.

Qualifications

• A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, supported by an engineering apprenticeship.
• Experience in FMCG or high-volume manufacturing environments.
• Proven track record across engineering projects, commissioning and asset handover.
• Strong knowledge of machinery safety and engineering compliance.
• Familiarity with CDM 2015 and relevant statutory requirements.
• Experience managing technical documentation and project files.
• Proficient with CMMS and data handling.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering leadership and technical oversight across capital and site-based projects.
• Act as the engineering representative in project meetings, identifying risks and actions.
• Ensure new machinery meets safety, engineering and statutory requirements.
• Own and coordinate technical documentation for project lifecycle and handover.
• Review drawings, certifications and safety information to ensure standards are met.
• Support project governance, tracking deliverables through design, installation, commissioning and handover.
• Collaborate with OEMs, contractors and internal teams to resolve technical issues.
• Ensure assets are operationally ready with procedures, risk assessments, and training.
• Assist in transitioning completed projects into an operational engineering environment.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement using root-cause analysis.
