Job summary

Amey is seeking an On-Site Electrician at HMYOI Wetherby to carry out planned and preventative electrical maintenance on a secure MoJ site. The role is 39 hours per week on a permanent contract, with weekend work on a 1 in 3 rota and a 15% weekend allowance.

The position requires Level 2 electrical qualification and 18th Edition, with good health and safety practices and the ability to work independently. Benefits include pension, flexible benefits, discounts, and on-site parking with gym

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Level 2 Electrician to join Amey at HMYOI Wetherby, working on a secure, long-term Ministry of Justice contract. This is a site-based role, offering stability, structure and consistent work within a supportive facilities team. Weekend working is 1 in 3 on a rota, with a 15% allowance.

You’ll Be Responsible For

• Planned and preventative electrical maintenance
• Fault finding and minor electrical works
• Like-for-like replacements, testing, and inspections in line with BS7671
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and compliantly
• Supporting Health & Safety standards and safe systems of work

What we’re looking for

• Level 2 Electrical qualification
• 18th Edition (17th Edition considered with upskilling)
• Experience in electrical maintenance
• Good H&S awareness and ability to work independently
• Basic IT skills

Experience with fire alarms or CCTV is desirable but not essential.
