Job summary

Amey is recruiting a qualified Electrician for a permanent, single-site role at HMP Garth in Leyland. The position offers steady work on a MoJ contract with no travel between sites, providing stability and consistent hours.

You will perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance, fault finding, and testing to BS7671, ensuring safety and compliance across systems.

Qualifications

• Level 2 electrical qualification required.
• 18th Edition (17th acceptable with training).
• Electrical maintenance experience essential.
• Knowledge of Electricity at Work Regulations required.
• Able to work independently.
• Basic IT skills.

£30,866 – £36,135 | Permanent

39 hours per week | 8am–5pm

1 in 4 weekends (rota) + 15% allowance

• Minor works and like‑for‑like replacements

• Ensuring systems are safe, compliant and operational

Requirements

• Level 2 Electrical qualification
• 18th Edition (17th considered with training)
• Electrical maintenance experience

Fire Alarm/CCTV Experience Desirable But Not Essential.

Prison security clearance including Standard DBS required – full support provided by Amey.
