Job summary

Amey at HMYOI Wetherby is hiring an On-Site Electrician to join a secure, long-term MoJ contract. You will perform planned and preventative electrical maintenance, fault finding, testing, and inspections in line with BS7671, working on a single-site facility.

The role requires a Level 2 Electrical qualification, 18th Edition, proven electrical maintenance experience, strong H&S awareness, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Electrical qualification.
• 18th Edition (17th Edition considered with upskilling).
• Experience in electrical maintenance.
• Good H&S awareness and ability to work independently.
• Basic IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Planned and preventative electrical maintenance.
• Fault finding and minor electrical works.
• Like-for-like replacements, testing, and inspections in line with BS7671.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and compliantly.
• Supporting Health & Safety standards and safe systems of work.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Level 2 Electrician to join Amey at HMYOI Wetherby, working on a secure, long-term Ministry of Justice contract.

This is a site-based role, offering stability, structure, and consistent work within a supportive facilities team. Weekend working is 1 in 3 on a rota, with a 15% allowance.

You’ll Be Responsible For

• Planned and preventative electrical maintenance
• Fault finding and minor electrical works
• Like-for-like replacements, testing, and inspections in line with BS7671
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and compliantly
• Supporting Health & Safety standards and safe systems of work

What we’re looking for

• Level 2 Electrical qualification
• 18th Edition (17th Edition considered with upskilling)
• Experience in electrical maintenance
• Good H&S awareness and ability to work independently
• Basic IT skills

Experience with fire alarms or CCTV is desirable but not essential.
