Job summary

Foresight Search Ltd, on behalf of a leading Devon-based main contractor, is seeking a hands-on Design Manager for on-site coordination of new build and refurbishment projects in Exeter.

You will lead pre-construction and post-contract design work, chair design meetings, manage drawings and specifications, and coordinate with consultants and subcontract designers to ensure contractual and technical compliance. Salary £55,000–£70,000 plus car allowance and package.

Qualifications

• Experience with national or regional main contractors
• Strong experience in commercial (non-residential) sectors
• Hands-on site based design manager with coordination responsibilities
• Experience on pre- and post-construction design and build projects
• Projects up to £5m+ experience

Responsibilities

• Arrange and chair design team meetings with consultants and designers and issue minutes
• Collate and manage contract drawings, specs and documents
• Carry out technical reviews and ensure comments are incorporated
• Prepare and manage design and procurement schedules and release information
• Provide design support to project management teams
• Coordinate information to meet Building Control and planning conditions
• Lead client/design reviews to ensure satisfaction
• Manage design change proposals and capture RFI responses
• Assist in compiling O&M Health & Safety file
