Job summary

Tioxide Materials Ltd, at the Greatham, Hartlepool facility, seeks an experienced Construction Manager to lead on-site construction activities for the capital investment plan. You will ensure compliance with safety, environmental and engineering standards while controlling schedules, costs and contractor performance.

The role acts as site-based authority for Capital Projects, translating designs into safe, high-quality installations that support site growth and reliability.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Engineering/Construction Management
• Experience delivering construction in chemical/heavy industrial or COMAH environments
• Proven track record managing capital projects from planning to handover
• Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and health & safety laws
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary contractors and teams
• Proven scheduling, risk management and budget control

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination and safe execution of construction across capital projects, within budgets and schedules.
• Lead selection, mobilisation and management of contractors, monitor safety, quality and schedule.
• Champion safety culture, CDM, COMAH, method statements and risk assessments.
• Develop and manage execution, shutdown and commissioning plans with Project Engineers/Controls.
• Ensure construction activities meet specifications, verify inspections and manage punch lists and handover.
• Build relationships across Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and Capital Projects, supporting constructability assessments.
• Drive continuous improvement in construction management and contractor performance.
