Job summary

NG Bailey is recruiting for a Permanent - Full Time On-site Commercial Manager for a nuclear project in Burghfield near Reading. The role focuses on maximizing profitability and leading the commercial team on complex projects.

Applicants should have significant construction commercial experience, NEC4 contracts knowledge (preferred) and a degree or equivalent. Security clearance may be required for site access.

Qualifications

• Significant experience managing the commercial performance of construction projects.
• Experience of NEC4 contracts (preferred).
• Experience in leading a team.
• BSc/Degree or equivalent desirable.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety is visible in all activities and emphasised across the project.
• Identify and manage risk and opportunity schedules to protect profitability.
• Lead the commercial team and maximise performance of the project.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers and vendors; negotiate contract terms and final accounts.
• Attend contract reviews and ensure costs and values are accurate for forecasts.
• Assist the Commercial Director with business plans and local management accounts; maintain records to avoid disputes.
• Monitor the commercial performance of the project and project staff.
• Collaborate to prepare the commercial plan and communicate all contractual obligations.
• Oversee applications for payment and ensure timely receipt per contract terms.
• Manage ongoing commercial aspects of subcontracts and terms.
