Job summary

Extracellular in Bristol, UK, seeks an Infrastructure Engineer to own the technical backbone of a cutting-edge biotech lab. You’ll manage an on-prem Linux stack, Docker services, and MQTT data collection, ensuring data moves reliably from instruments to the cloud with strong security and observability.

Qualifications

• 4+ years running production infrastructure and on-prem Linux systems.
• Deep expertise in physical on-prem deployments and bare-metal services.
• Proficient in VLANs, routing, firewalls, and packet-level debugging with tcpdump.
• Hands-on scripting and tool integration with Terraform/Ansible and related tech.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and extend Linux edge devices and lab-floor collectors with IaC tools.
• Own end-to-end data platform from MQTT collection to cloud storage and databases.
• Implement backup, disaster recovery and observability protocols to protect data.
