Job summary

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service is recruiting for a management post on the Hub Management Team, leading the service's on-call stations and acting as the focal point for on-call workforce matters. The role includes line management of on-call crews, recruitment and succession planning, training, performance and retention, with a flexi-duty rota and Incident Command Level 1 required at application.

Open only to eligible internal staff with CPD.

Qualifications

• Experience in line management of on-call staff and crew.
• Ability to drive recruitment and succession planning for on-call.
• Understanding of national on-call workforce challenges and local impacts.
• CPD at Competent Crew Manager level with Incident Command Level 1.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct line management to on-call stations.
• Lead operational line management of on-call staff.
• Lead recruitment and succession planning for on-call.
• Oversee training for on-call staff.
• Manage performance of on-call staff.
• Drive standardisation across on-call stations.
• Lead retention initiatives.
• Champion on-call workforce and response matters.
• Act as the organisational focal point for on-call issues.
• Strengthen on-call service delivery across RBFRS.
