Job summary

Essex County Fire and Rescue Service is seeking expressions of interest for an On-Call Crew Manager at West Mersea Fire Station. You will lead with the Watch Manager, drive station plans, and develop the team for succession.

Applicants should be ready for leadership and to support recruits through development journeys. The role requires current fitness qualifications, appropriate assessments, and residence within close proximity to the station.

Qualifications

• Competent in their current role.
• Hold a current Fitech 42 VO2 max.
• Hold BAV&D Assessment/ comparable external BA qualification.
• Hold Incident Command Level 1
• Have completed all relevant operational assessments and compulsory courses to their role.
• Live or work within a 5-minute drive radius of the station. Post Code C05 8QT.

Responsibilities

• Lead the station alongside the Watch Manager and deliver station plans and priorities.
• Develop and mentor team members as part of succession planning.
• Support new recruits through their development journey and lead on station activities.
• Coordinate planning, review, implementation and delivery of operational priorities in a timely manner.
