Job summary

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service in Sandown is seeking an On-Call Firefighter to respond to a range of emergencies and engage with the community. You will be employed on a permanent basis, with a minimum of 31 on-call hours per week.

Applicants must live/work within 5 minutes of Sandown Fire Station and will undergo comprehensive training, including a Standard DBS check. There is potential for additional incident payments and diverse duties from fire safety to co-responding

Qualifications

• No previous experience required as comprehensive training is provided.
• Must be able to reach Sandown Fire Station quickly and safely after alert.

Responsibilities

• Respond to a range of emergencies and engage with the community.
• Participate in a variety of incidents including fire safety, flooding, road accidents and other emergencies.
• Attend community events and support protective community assets.
