Job summary

ESL UK is seeking an OLE Design Engineer to join our Rail team in Manchester. The role involves supporting the design and delivery of OLE projects from concept through to detailed design, with a focus on developing technical expertise in a collaborative environment.

The candidate should have 2–5 years of OLE design experience in the UK rail industry, a degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, and be working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of OLE design experience in UK rail.
• Understanding of Network Rail standards and design processes.
• Degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Working towards Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Produce OLE design drawings and technical documentation.
• Assist with design of railway electrification systems.
• Work with multidisciplinary design teams for integrated solutions.
• Ensure designs comply with Network Rail standards and client specs.
• Support design reviews and technical assurance processes.
• Liaise with Project Managers, clients and stakeholders.
