Job summary

ASCO Group in Peterhead is seeking a detail-oriented Stock Counter to join our warehouse operations on a fixed-term 6-month contract. You will audit inventory, investigate discrepancies, and ensure stock records reflect accurate levels while handling receiving, storing, and issuing materials in line with customer requirements and company procedures.

The role requires practical SAP experience, strong Excel skills, and the ability to maintain data integrity under pressure, with awareness of oil

Qualifications

• Experience managing inventory and stock in a warehouse environment.
• Practical experience with SAP warehouse transactions and inventory management processes.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to work with Word for reporting.
• Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving abilities.
• High accuracy, data integrity and attention to detail.
• Good planning and organisational skills with adaptability to changing priorities.
• Clear verbal and written communication and ability to collaborate with colleagues.
• Customer-focused approach with commitment to service excellence.
• Knowledge of Oil & Gas operational spares and related warehouse processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inventory stock checks and reconcile variances.
• Investigate stock anomalies and identify root causes; implement corrective actions.
• Enter, retrieve and maintain inventory data using SAP and other systems.
• Produce stock count and variance reports for management review.
• Receive, locate, store and issue materials per procedures and customer requirements.
• Ensure all material movements are recorded in the warehouse management system.
• Identify damaged, expired, obsolete, or non-serviceable materials and report them.
• Maintain correct stock identification, storage locations, weights and environmental controls.
• Support continuous improvement to enhance warehouse efficiency and accuracy.
