Job summary

Progressive Recruitment is seeking an OHL Engineer to support design and delivery of electricity infrastructure across UK DNO frameworks. You will work within a multidisciplinary team on network reinforcement, asset replacement and energy transition projects.

You will deliver designs, produce calculations and reports, and liaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure quality and compliance with ENA standards and CDM regulations.

Qualifications

• Degree/HNC/HND in Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience delivering overhead line projects within the UK utilities sector.
• Knowledge of DNO standards and overhead line design principles.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver overhead line designs in accordance with DNO and industry standards.
• Produce engineering calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Undertake route assessments, feasibility studies and site inspections.
• Carry out structural assessments of poles, towers, conductors and fittings.
• Support the delivery of projects from concept through to construction and commissioning.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, landowners and project stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with ENA standards, CDM Regulations and Health & Safety requirements.
• Support construction activities by responding to technical queries and design changes.
• Participate in design reviews and engineering assurance activities. Work collaboratively with civil, cable, protection and substation engineering teams.
