Job summary

West Heath School seeks an Offsite Teaching Assistant to support students with social, emotional, behavioural, mental health and academics here at our SEMH setting. You will transport and accompany pupils to offsite provisions using school vehicles and must hold GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above with a valid driving licence.

Previous teaching or support experience is required; SEND background is advantageous.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English Grade 4 (C) or above.
• Driving licence required.
• Previous experience as Teaching or Support Assistant preferred.
• Experience in SEND environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Transport and support students to/offsite provisions.
• Support students’ social, emotional, behavioural, mental health and academic development.
• Contribute to safeguarding and welfare of children.

Salary: Band 4: £20,091 - £21,857 actual salary (£27,103 - £29,485 FTE salary) Working Hours: 32.5 hours per week - Term Time Only

You will be working to support students social, emotional, behavioural, mental health and academic development through a relational and traumas informed approach.

As the role requires the post holder to transport and support students to and from offsite provisions, the ideal applicant must hold, a minimum of, GCSE Maths and English Grade 4 (C) or above, and a driving licence. School vehicles will be available to use for the transport of students. Previous experience working as Teaching or Support Assistant is required. Experience of working in a SEND environment or with SEND students would also be advantageous.
