Job summary

JAB Recruitment is supporting a leading UK energy operator to appoint an experienced Training & Competence Advisor within the Facilities Engineering team on a 2-year contract. The role focuses on managing training and competence frameworks across assets, developing assessment programmes for safety-critical and technical roles, and delivering annual training plans.

An ASAP start with offshore visits and valid offshore safety credentials is required, with hybrid working four days per week in the

Qualifications

• Strong Training & Competence Management experience within upstream oil & gas.
• Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements relating to training and competence.
• Knowledge of Safety Case requirements and competence assurance standards.
• Experience developing and maintaining competence criteria and assessment frameworks.
• Production Operations background.
• Previous offshore asset experience.
• Several years' experience in training management.
• Strong stakeholder management, facilitation and influencing skills.
• Valid BOSIET and Offshore Medical.
• Flexibility to undertake regular offshore visits.

Responsibilities

• Managing training and competence assurance frameworks across operated assets.
• Maintaining competence registers, job profiles and Training & Competence Management Systems.
• Developing assessment programmes for Safety Critical, Operational Critical and Technical roles.
• Providing governance and assurance of operational training and competence.
• Supporting assessors, verifiers and functional competence frameworks.
• Developing and maintaining training and competence standards, procedures and processes.
• Producing training, competence and KPI reports.
• Establishing assessment programmes for Emergency Management and Emergency Response Teams.
• Delivering annual training and competence assurance programmes.
• Acting as contract owner for third-party training booking services.
• Supporting audits, inspections and regulatory assurance activities.
• Preparing training budgets and monitoring spend.
• Maintaining relevant training and assessment records for contracting personnel.
