Job summary

Orion Group's client in Aberdeen is seeking a Technical Safety Project Lead to drive safe delivery across offshore brownfield projects. This permanent role offers hybrid working and a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance and risk management.

You will lead safety activities from concept through delivery, manage contractor work scopes and third‑party consultants, and influence stakeholders to embed safety in every decision.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in Technical Safety offshore/major hazard industries.
• Strong knowledge of safety legislation, verification requirements and risk management.
• Experience supporting brownfield modifications and management of change.
• Proven ability to manage stakeholders, contractors and consultants.
• Excellent planning and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate technical safety activities across multiple projects from concept through to delivery.
• Influence project, asset and technical stakeholders to ensure safety requirements are embedded in decision-making.
• Develop and maintain technical safety plans, ensuring regulatory, verification and asset requirements are achieved.
• Manage specialist studies, contractor work scopes and third-party technical safety deliverables.
• Provide assurance that technical safety activities meet company standards, industry requirements and regulatory obligations.
• Drive continuous improvement by sharing lessons learned and supporting the evolution of technical safety project delivery practices.
