Job summary

SBM Offshore N.V. is seeking an experienced Instrument Technician to join our offshore maintenance team. You will oversee instrument assets, supervise technicians, and ensure safe operation of electrical systems on our vessels.

Candidate must have HNC/HND in instrumentation, offshore experience, COMP-EX, and proficient English (B2). The role emphasizes safety, planning, and efficient maintenance to support the blue economy and energy transition.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in instrumentation or recognized equivalent.
• 5 years’ offshore experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience of Permit to Work, Mechanical Isolation Standards and Risk Assessment.
• Experience in hydrocarbon processing systems and utilities.
• Experience in Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
• COMP-EX Certified.
• Proficiency in English at a minimum of B2 level according to the CEFR international standard.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and adjust instrument assets to meet operating requirements.
• Plan resources and spares, ensuring cost-effective use.
• Monitor performance and record outcomes.
• Diagnose faults and apply appropriate tests.
• Supervise instrument technicians and subcontractors.
• Respond to emergencies and participate in drills.
