THREE60 Energy, a leading offshore engineering company headquartered in Aberdeen, is recruiting an Instrument Technician for an offshore rotational role mobilising from Dyce. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plant instrumentation, ensure MMS compliance and support safety-critical operations with a strong focus on reliability.

The role requires offshore experience, instrument discipline expertise and the ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications

  • Core Trade competence in Instrument discipline (apprenticeship or HNC/HND).
  • Offshore instrumentation experience essential.
  • Control system maintenance expertise essential.
  • Calibration expertise essential.
  • Technical documentation skills essential.
  • Multi-discipline maintenance experience desirable.
  • DCS/PLC system knowledge desirable.
  • CompEx Units Ex 01 to 04 (Electrical)
  • First aid for electricians
  • TSBT 01 & 02 Small Bore Tubing certification
  • Authorised Gas Tester (Combined Levels 1, 2 & 3)
  • Electrical Safety Rules knowledge
  • BOSIET / FOET with CA-EBS (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training)
  • OEUK Medical
  • Valid MIST (Minimum Industry Safety Training)
  • Control of Work Training, to the appropriate level
  • Right to work in the UK essential

Responsibilities

  • Complete preventative and remedial maintenance in accordance with MMS schedule and work instructions, with emphasis on safety critical activities.
  • Carry out fault finding and diagnostic checks on site equipment, ensuring repairs are addressed promptly.
  • Respond to breakdowns and apply effective fault finding techniques.
  • Carry out major services, overhauls and intrusive maintenance on site equipment.
  • Participate in Root Cause Analysis to improve reliability.
  • Maintain work history in MMS and identify follow-up work and materials.
  • Keep logs and handovers accurate at shift and crew changes.
  • Propose ideas to increase efficiency in cost or time without compromising integrity.
  • Share knowledge and best practices to improve team performance.
  • Participate in competence schemes and multi-skilled roles as required.
  • Be flexible to support across departments for team success.
  • Maintain effective working relationships and minimise conflicts.
  • Communicate effectively with all colleagues.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation and apply it at work.
  • Inhibit field instruments as required for maintenance or breakdowns per procedures.

THREE60 Operations Division are currently recruiting for an Instrument Technician to join the team on a full time, fixed term basis until at least the end of 2026.

The successful candidate will maintain process plant instrumentation and associated equipment in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements while executing planned preventative, remedial and breakdown maintenance in accordance with Maintenance Management System (MMS).

This is an offshore rotational role mobilising out of Dyce, Aberdeen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete preventative and remedial maintenance in accordance with the Maintenance Management System (MMS) schedule and work instructions, with particular emphasis on safety critical activities
  • Carry out fault finding and diagnostic checks on all site equipment, ensuring any repairs are addressed promptly
  • Respond to breakdowns in a timely manner and carry out and apply effective fault finding and investigation techniques
  • Carry out major services, overhauls and intrusive maintenance on site equipment
  • Carry out and participate in Root Cause Analysis to improve equipment reliability
  • Ensure comprehensive work history is recorded in the Maintenance Management System (MMS) and any follow up work and material required is identified
  • Ensure comprehensive records and logs are maintained and effective handovers are carried out at shift and crew change
  • Identify and propose ideas and solutions that will increase efficiency in cost or time without loss of integrity and present idea(s) to relevant management
  • Support and improve team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices
  • Participate in the Company competence scheme including any multi skilled role in accordance with the relevant competence framework
  • Adopt a flexible working attitude to provide support across all departments to ensure team success
  • Create, maintain & enhance effective working relations and identify and minimise interpersonal conflict
  • Maintain effective communication with all work colleagues at all levels
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and be able to apply it in the workplace
  • Inhibit field instruments as required for maintenance, start up or breakdown in line with company procedures
