Job summary

SBM Offshore N.V. is seeking a Cargo Superintendent to lead offshore cargo operations, ballast, and cargo-utility systems.

You will supervise cargo operators, GP foremen, crane drivers, and subcontractors to ensure safe, compliant loading and offloading on crude oil tankers or FPSOs. This role requires STCW II/2 Chief Officer qualification, 3 years crude oil tanker experience, English at CEFR B1, and proven leadership in safety-critical environments.

Qualifications

• STCW II/2 Chief Officer certification for ships of 3000 GT or more.
• At least 3 years crude oil tanker experience (VLCC preferable) as OOW; Chief Officer experience desirable.
• FPSO experience is advantageous.
• Experience with loading software and load planning systems.
• Proficiency in English at least CEFR B1.
• Medical fitness per GEMS Health Requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare to Start Marine and Cargo Operations.
• Startup Marine and Cargo Operations and monitor them.
• Shutdown Marine and Cargo Operations.
• Contribute to Tank Entry, Inspection and Maintenance Activities.
• Demonstrate leadership in technical and safety issues.
• Liaise with onshore and offshore departments; delegate with competence.
• Promote training and competency in the department.
• Contribute to reporting and investigation of incidents.
• Manage emergency response and environmental protection measures.
