Job summary

American Society of Civil Engineers in Norwich is seeking a detail‑oriented CAD Design Engineer for the oil/gas sector. The role is fully office‑based with no hybrid or remote options, requiring hands‑on design work in SolidWorks, AutoCAD or 3D CAD.

You will develop 3D models and 2D drawings, prepare CAD/GIS outputs for land agreements, manage BOMs, and participate in design reviews, with a focus on accuracy and collaborative problem solving.

Qualifications

• HND or Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, Revit or 3D CAD.
• Understanding of engineering principles and processes.
• Attention to detail in technical documentation and drawings.
• Strong communication to explain concepts to non-engineering stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop complex 3D models and 2D drawings using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or 3D CAD.
• Prepare CAD and GIS drawings for land agreements and planning.
• Create simulations and prototypes to validate design performance.
• Maintain BOMs and manage design revisions in PLM/PDM systems.
• Identify design clashes early and propose engineering solutions.
• Participate in design reviews.
