Job summary

Taylor Hopkinson | Powered by Brunel in the United Kingdom is seeking a Cable Installation Engineer for a major offshore wind farm. You will support procurement, assess installation methods, and coordinate with stakeholders across packages and contractors.

The role requires practical offshore installation experience, knowledge of cable laying and burial, and strong MS Office, GIS, Orcaflex, and AutoCAD skills; travel to offshore sites is expected.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in construction projects of offshore wind farms.
  • Understanding of tendering and contracts used in array cable installation.
  • Strong project management experience in offshore logistics.
  • High commitment to HSE and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Support procurement with preparation of contracts and vessel charters with offshore construction companies.
  • Technical assessment of installation methodologies and review of Contractor's procedures to ensure compliance with Employer's requirements and industry standards.
  • Support Interface Management with work packages, other projects, contractors and authorities.
  • Review and assist in cable routing, cable pull-in, and T&T methodologies.
  • Review the Contractor's pre-installation engineering works and procedures.
  • Coordinate with internal packages and departments on project-specific requirements.
  • Oversee and coordinate installation of IAC, including pre-laying surveys, cable laying, burial, and jointing activities.
