Job summary

Wärtsilä Defence Solutions Limited in Havant, United Kingdom, is seeking an Offline CADCAM Programmer to join our precision manufacturing team. You will create offline CNC code for 5-axis machines and interpret engineering drawings to program from solid models.

The role requires experience with Mazatrol, Edgecam or Mastercam, and solid Edge/Solid Edge or similar CAD tools, plus a background in lean manufacturing and health and safety.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy engineering environment with high precision work.
• Apprentice-served machinist background is preferred.
• Strong tooling knowledge and fixture design experience.
• Proficient with Edgecam, Mastercam or similar CAM systems.
• Mazatrol programming experience including matrixcam2 & DX Soft Control.
• Solid Edge or similar CAD system experience.
• I.S.O. Programming & Mazatrol exposure desirable.
• Vericut anti-collision software experience.
• Familiar with mill-turn techniques and SAP is a plus.
• Health & safety procedures awareness.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Offline CADCAM Programmer in Havant , United Kingdom to join our team .

Position Description:

• Work within busy manufacturing team in low volume, high precision environment.
• Responsible for creating offline CNC code for the machining of parts on 5 Axis CNC vertical mill/turn lathes (Mazak Integrex e-1600V, e1060V8 & i500).
• Able to read engineering drawings and program from solid model.
• Create tooling and set up sheets.
• Experience of working with different metals - Inconel 625, Duplex, CNC, NAB.
• Communicate and liaise with machinist team in a confident and understanding manner
• Prepared to be flexible with working hours to suit the business needs.
• Work to tight deadlines to achieve on time delivery targets.
• Possess strong problem-solving skills

• Working in a safe manner in line with the companies Health and Safety policy.
• Ensure quality is maintained and processes for area are correctly implemented to company standards.

Essential Experience:

• Experience of working in a busy Engineering environment.
• Ideally Apprentice served with machinist experience background.
• Strong modern tooling knowledge.
• Work holding /fixture design experience.
• Proficient using Edgecam, Mastercam or similar.
• Mazatrol - matrixcam2 & DX Soft Control programming.
• Solid Edge or similar CAD system experience.
• I.S.O Programming & Mazatrol experience desirable.
• Vericut - anti-collision software experience.
• Familiar with mill turn techniques.
• Computer Literate (Microsoft).
• SAP experience an advantage.
• Understand Health& Safety environment/procedures

Education :

• Apprenticeship/machinist background
• HNC/HND desired but relevant experience will also be considered.

Experience :

• 5 years (min) Engineering experience within the manufacturing industry.
• 5 years (min) CNC Programming knowledge.
• CI experience (Lean 7 wastes). Safety / 5S work ethic.
